For users of 4X4 vehicles fitted with a rear door mounted spare wheel, the Pacific Rear Tyre Rack makes carrying up to two bikes so simple. It mounts directly to the spare tyre (or a tyre fitted with a soft cover) quickly, and easily and folds away after use to maximise storage space.
The arms of the rack can be swapped over for use with left or right side mounted tyres to centre the bike on the vehicle.
It is supplied with sturdy Velcro Straps to secure frames to the channels, and can carry up to 30kg of total weight.
The rack is very simple to use. Assemble the rack to fit over the top of the spare wheel, loosen the tyre strap so that it loops under the tyre then attach the stablising straps beneath the tyre and you're pretty much ready to mount the bikes. Lower the bike frame over the frame channel and secure the Velcro Straps - ensuring your bike tyres are not in line with your vehicle's exhaust pipe gasses - and drive away!
It's designed for most frame designs, but you might need to get creative with some ladies frame designs or kids bikes.
